Terms of service

These terms are a contract between you and Sourdough AI LLC (“we,” “us”) covering your use of Farm40. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you use Farm40 on behalf of a farm or business, you confirm you're authorized to accept these terms for it, and “you” means that business.

You must be at least 16 years old, and legally able to enter a contract, to use Farm40.

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials safe and for activity under your account. Sign-in is handled by our identity provider; we never see your password. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has gained access.

You are responsible for the records you enter, for having the right to enter them, and for anyone you allow to use your account.

Farm40 is $19 per month and starts with a 7-day card-on-file trial. You add a payment method to begin the trial, nothing is charged that day, and if you cancel before the trial ends you pay nothing. If you do not cancel, the subscription begins at $19 per month. Every feature — crops, livestock, labor, inventory, documents, financials, and all twelve CSV exports — is included, on unlimited farms. If you just want to look first, the live demo needs no account and no card.

The subscription renews monthly until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your account; you'll keep access through the end of the paid period. When a subscription ends, we do not delete anything — your records are retained and you can export all of them as CSV. Access to add or edit records resumes when you subscribe again.

Fees already charged are non-refundable except where required by law. We may change our prices, and if we do we will give you notice before the change affects a renewal, so that you can cancel first.

The assistant is optional and separate from your plan. 10 questions a month are included on every account, including during the 7-day trial. The add-on is $20 per month for 500 questions a month, is billed separately, and can be cancelled without touching your plan. Unused questions do not carry over.

The assistant reads your records and nobody else's, and it cannot create, change, or delete anything. It reports which of its read-only tools it consulted to reach an answer. To provide it we send your question and the records it reads to our model provider, as described in our privacy policy.

The assistant's answers are generated by a language model and may be wrong. Do not rely on them for a decision with a regulatory, financial, veterinary, or safety consequence. It is a faster way to read the records you already keep, and nothing more. Where an answer matters, check the record.

Your farm records belong to you. We claim no ownership of them, and we do not use them to train any model. You can export any record as a CSV file at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account and its data. How we handle that data is described in our privacy policy.

You grant us only the permission we need to host, back up, and display your records so we can operate the service for you.

Don't use Farm40 to break the law, to store data you have no right to, to attempt to disrupt, probe, or reverse-engineer the service, to gain access to another account, or to resell it as your own. Don't use the AI assistant to attempt to reach records that are not yours. We may suspend accounts that put the service or other customers at risk.

This is the most important section on this page, so it is written plainly.

Farm40 helps you keep records — including re-entry intervals, pre-harvest intervals, withdrawal windows, and traceability information. The accuracy of what you enter, and responsibility for meeting the rules that apply to your operation, remain entirely yours. Every report and export we produce is a view of the data you provided. If the data is wrong or missing, the report will be wrong or missing, and it will look no different.

Farm40 will refuse to record a livestock sale for a group that is inside an active withdrawal window, based on the treatment records you entered. That is a rule inside our application. It is not a guarantee of regulatory compliance, and it is not a substitute for your own judgement. It cannot know about a treatment you did not record, it cannot govern a sale made outside Farm40, and it does not know your jurisdiction's requirements.

Nothing in Farm40, in the AI assistant, or on this website is agronomic, veterinary, legal, accounting, or regulatory advice. The product label, your veterinarian, your certifier, your accountant, and your regulator are the authorities on your obligations. We are none of those things.

We work to keep Farm40 available, but we do not promise a particular uptime, and the service may be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. We may add, change, or remove features. If we remove something you depend on, or make a change that materially reduces the service, we will give you reasonable notice so you can export your records and decide what to do.

You may stop using Farm40 and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, that we are required by law to act on, or that endangers the service or other customers. Except where the law or an ongoing abuse investigation prevents it, we will give you an opportunity to export your records before we close an account.

The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We work to keep Farm40 available, secure, and correct, but we can't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

To the extent permitted by law, Sourdough AI LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, nor for lost profits, lost revenue, or lost or inaccurate data, arising out of your use of Farm40 — including any regulatory penalty, rejected load, failed audit, or lost certification. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of one hundred United States dollars or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

If your use of Farm40, your records, or your breach of these terms causes a third-party claim against us, you agree to defend and indemnify us against it, except to the extent the claim arises from our own wrongdoing.

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which Sourdough AI LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be handled in the courts located there, and you and we each consent to their jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live.

Before filing anything, please write to [email protected]. Most disputes are a misunderstanding, and we would rather fix it.

These terms, together with the privacy policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about Farm40. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them to an affiliate or in connection with a sale of the business. We'll send notices to the email address on your account.

If we change these terms, we'll update the effective date above and, where the change is material, notify you by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Farm40 after a change means you accept the new terms. If you don't, export your records and close your account.
